For this project, my team redesigned and refreshed the websites of two Costa Rican nonprofit clients: Fundación PIEDAD and Reto Juvenil Internacional. I served as the team Design Lead.
Starting in Fall 2016, I used Illustrator to design mockups for the websites. I aimed to refresh aesthetics and structure for mobile-first user experiences while maintaining the branding of each non-profit. The video team and I used these mockups as a guide, and ensured that design elements were consistent throughout project content.

We travelled down to San José in January 2017 and met with our clients to learn more about their goals and exchange insights. The websites needed more accessible information architecture, refreshed photo/video content, and an update to responsive design standards. As in the US, a large portion of Costa Rican internet users access online content through their mobile phones. We wanted the final site to be lightweight, easy to explore, visually appealing, and uncluttered.

Work on the actual sites began. Our Lead Coder lead the way on the coding of the Reto Juvenil Wordpress site. With my Illustrator mockups as my guide, I coded a HTML/CSS Zurb Foundation prototype of the Fundación PIEDAD site. Another team partner and I implemented this code into Wordpress using the Foundation-based "Baked WP" theme. Our client recieved a custom Foundation layout backed by an accessible Wordpress CMS editor.
